Opera coaching

Marc has worked in opera ever since his studies at Indiana Univeristy School of Music (1999-2001) where he was coach and repetiteur in the university’s opera ( L’Elisir d’amore, Susannah, Rigoletto).

Since then he has played and coached in various projects including the Brevard opera company, North Carolina ( Suor Angelica, Gianni Schicchi, the Gondoliers, Aida, Fledermaus), opera classes by renowned soprano Martina Arroyo and worked closely with American conductor David Effron.

In the UK Marc has played and coached for opera productions at Dartington summer school ( Turn of the Screw conducted by Nicholas Jenkins), directed opera scenes at AIMS international school ( The Telephone, A Hand of Bridge, L’Enfant et les sortilèges, Carmen, The Rake’s Progress, Eugene Onegin, The Cunning Little Vixen), repetiteur at the Aix au provence festival (Entfhürung aus dem serail conducted by Mark Minkowski) and in Opera pa Skaret, Sweden ( Il Barbiere di Siviglia, conducted by Andreas Lonnqvist).

Marc has worked as repetiteur since 2007 with celebrated soprano Nelly Miricioiu and helped in preparation for various opera roles ( Agrippina, LaVoix humaine, Lady Macbeth) and with Mezzo Soprano Marianne Corentti.

In addition to his private coaching, Marc is on staff at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the London College of Music and freelance coach at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and Royal College of Music. He offers advise and training on a range of issues including style, interpretation, opera role, audition and concert preparation as well as on vocal technique. He works on a regular basis with both undergraduates and post graduates as well as professional singers.
