Marc Verter is a pianist, song accompanist and vocal coach.

He is currently on staff as a vocal coach at the Vocal Department of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, the Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival in Sicily, an accompanist in collaboration with the Jette Parker Programme at the Royal Opera House and gives regular master classes at the Tel Aviv Buchmann Mehta school. He is the artistic director of the Cratoule Summer Singing School in France and is a regular coach and pianist in several summer voice and opera programmes in the UK and Europe. He performs regularly in the UK and abroad and has performed song recitals which were broadcast live on radio in the UK, Israel, Belgium and The Netherlands.

Mr Verter has worked extensively with internationally renowned singers such as Nelly Miricioiu, Yvonne Kenny, Sarah Walker, Jonathan Lemalu, Kate Royal, Claire Booth, Ilona Domnich, Benedict Nelson, David Stout, Katherine Broderick, Elena Xanthoudakis, Mark Glanville, Nadine Benjamin, Sharon Rostorff and Chen Reiss. He has performed recitals with renowned violinist Madeleine Mitchell and played on BBC radio with a variety of artists including celebrity cellist Sol Gabetta and baritone Benjamin Appl.

Mr Verter has performed in festivals in Israel,North America and Europe. As a repetiteur, he worked in international opera festivals including the Aix en Provence festival in France, Opera pa Skaret in Sweden, the Dartington festival in the UK and most recently for Pegasus opera in the UK.

Recordings have included A collection of songs and arias with soprano Ilona Domnich (2009, Quartz), piano solo sonatas by Georgian composer Tamara Konstantin (2018, Naxos), Osterwald Lieder by Robert Franz with tenor William Searle and soprano Harriet Burns(2019, MPR) and a programme of songs by Mieczyslaw Weinberg with bass-baritone Mark Glanville is expected to be released in 2024 (Challenge).

He has researched specific areas of art song such as immigrant composers who fled or suffered under the Nazi regime and has recorded for the BBC a programme of songs with soprano Julia Kogan. Collaboration in the coming year with Vienna University for Music and Performing Arts and the ExileArte centre will lead to uncovering new music in this area and its publication. Research of the French Mélodie has led to the founding of Le Salon Musical, a series of shows which recreate European salons of the 19th century through theatre, song and chamber music. Performances have taken place in cultural venues, galleries, festivals and private homes.

Mr Verter is a regular adjudicator at song competitions in London including the Elizabeth Schumann competition at Trinity College of Music and English song competitions for the Association of English Singers and Speakers.

Mr. Verter was born and raised in Israel. He holds a B. Mus degee (Hon) in piano from Tel Aviv University; a M.Mus degree in piano from Indiana University School of Music and an M.Mus Degree in accompaniment from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where he studied with Graham Johnson.
